q0idmation v0.1.0-beta.4.2

beta.4.2 improves animation workflows, legacy fla import, audio editing, canvas correctness, and selection performance.

timeline and animation

  • the timeline ruler stays visible while scrolling through layers. horizontal frame scrolling keeps the ruler aligned with the frames, and the frame scrollbar stays above the layer list.
  • global hide/show and outline controls join the lock-all button, including layers inside collapsed folders.
  • folder rows follow the lengths of their contents instead of keeping an otherwise shortened animation thousands of frames long. existing projects are normalized when opened, and fla folder spans no longer extend the imported animation by themselves.
  • creating a keyframe after shortening a layer carries forward the previous drawing.
  • undo and redo restore the relevant timeline position.
  • transform anchors carry across inserted keyframes, including multiple selected objects, and follow objects dragged directly without first selecting them.
  • symbol conversion preserves the selected objects' internal stacking order.
  • corrected Spread between layers and Spread between keyframes, including distribution of a single selected object.
  • onion-skin options can include unlocked layers, and layer headers remain separate from horizontal frame scrolling.
  • playback can loop through a chosen frame range. a separate animation preview uses the project camera.

symbols, selection, and drawing

  • Duplicate Symbol creates an independent editable symbol and copies its nested dependencies, so edits to the duplicate do not change the original.
  • bring-forward and send-backward actions move selected objects by one stacking step, with configurable shortcuts.
  • shift selection supports adding and removing objects during continued selection gestures.
  • less accidental entry into symbol editing from rapid clicks; in-place editing keeps the surrounding artwork visible.
  • arrow keys move selected artwork, with a smaller step while holding shift.
  • line bending belongs to subselect, leaving ordinary selection available for moving the line.
  • rectangle selection can include both fills and strokes.
  • clipped raw-area selection caches its geometry and paint meshes. panning and zooming no longer repeat dense contour intersections and unions on every repaint.
  • corrected transform-handle interaction, including shift resizing from the handle's outer hit area.
  • corrected bucket-fill targeting, boundary coverage, and stacking. bucket-created fills participate in raw drawing editing and merging.
  • objects on held frames become editable after creating the needed keyframe, without requiring an undo to refresh them.

rigs, masks, and effects

  • rig transforms, outlines, and selection bounds follow the evaluated rig pose.
  • held rig poses and keyframed binding corrections support editing on the current frame without rewriting earlier poses. rig pose interpolation is explicit rather than forced.
  • empty mask frames pass their contents through instead of clipping everything away.
  • tint color effects use the vector rendering path for supported artwork, including nested symbols and gradients; effect combinations retain their existing fallbacks.

audio

  • clearer audio waveforms and clip controls in the timeline and properties.
  • audio scrubbing while moving the playhead, with short ramps to reduce clicks between snippets.
  • audio can start on blank keyframes and be split or stopped at other keys.
  • source offsets, duration, gain, pan, fades, mute, and looping are available as clip settings.
  • waveform generation runs in the background and cached source data survives unrelated artwork edits, reducing stalls when adding and working with audio.

fla import and settings

  • legacy binary fla import now decodes structured scene and library streams, including supported layer/frame data, symbol placements, groups, text, and bitmap data, rather than relying only on static shape recovery. this remains partial format support; unsupported content is reported through import warnings.
  • corrected archive object references, shape/style parsing, and imported transforms that could leave sprite packs scattered or missing artwork.
  • additional folder and playback-range corrections for imported projects.
  • library and properties panels no longer grow sideways as search fields or their contents change.
  • light-theme and custom blue accents survive restart. removed the old settings migration that replaced that blue with red in both q0editor and q0player. if the incorrect red accent was already saved, select the light theme once after updating.

file compatibility

the current readers support q1s v35 and q0s v34, including the new rig, tint, and audio fields. update both applications; older builds may reject projects or exports that use the new fields.

build details

the publication includes release compilation and artifact hashes for windows x64 and arm64. automated tests and a manual ui pass were not rerun for this publication. the performance change removes the repeated work identified in the supplied snapshot; no project-specific speedup benchmark is claimed.
